Staff include three Clinical Psychologists as the Directors and Project Manager, two experienced Master's level therapists, and two research assistants. Therapists are thoroughly trained in the projects’ three therapy techniques and all therapy sessions are videotaped for regular supervision and to ensure treatment manual adherence. |

Holly B. Waldron, Ph.D., is a Licensed Psychologist with 20 years experience in clinical work and research with adolescents and their families. She serves as the director of the center and is a senior research scientist at the Oregon Research Institute. She completed her doctoral studies at the University of Utah and held a faculty position at the University of New Mexico for 14 years. Her primary clinical emphasis and research interests focus on the development and evaluation of behavioral and family-based interventions for adolescent alcohol and drug use disorders, HIV risk, and other problem behaviors. Dr. Waldron is also actively involved in training therapists and providing supervision to professionals in the community and to graduate students in clinical and counseling psychology and social work. Erica M. Finstad, Ph.D., received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of New Mexico, where she specialized in substance abuse, eating disorders, and neuropsychological assessment. She has worked as a researcher and/or therapist on eight federally funded treatment research grants, helping families affected by a substance-abusing loved one. Erica is a Licensed Psychologist and manages the research and clinical supervision activities at CFAR.
Maija Ryan, LCSW Ms. Ryan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over10 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families. She has worked on several treatment research projects for Oregon Research Institute and the University of Washington, including research focusing on adolescent depression and addictions. She also has extensive experience as a family therapist in community agencies and is skilled in cognitive behavioral therapies for adolescent substance abuse and depression. Ms. Ryan has been an adolescent and family therapist at ORI-CFAR since 2007.
Stephanie Ohashi, B. A. Stephanie is the head research assistant for grants examining adolescent substance abuse and HIV risk behaviors. She coordinates client scheduling and meets with all families for their baseline and follow-up research assessments. |
