Behavioral science research is the systematic study of human behavior. Oregon Research Institute scientists study human behavior to learn why people behave the way they do and to develop programs to help people lead healthier lives.


Since 1960, ORI scientists have made significant contributions to understanding the causes, prevention, and treatment of social and medical problems in areas such as physical activity, adolescent substance use, tobacco use prevention and cessation, adolescent depression, and managing chronic illness.
