The advent of the
Internet and the proliferation of multimedia capable computers in households
have provided new avenues for disseminating interventions that promote
healthy behaviors. The potential to reach thousands or even millions
of individuals and provide tailored interventions at extremely low
cost represents a unique opportunity for behavioral scientists. ORI
researchers in this emerging field have adapted several proven interventions
for tobacco cessation, diabetes management, and parent training for use
on the Internet.
