The Body Project
The Body Project is a research study designed to increase body satisfaction among female college students. The project is funded by the National Institutes of Health, and is being conducted by Eric Stice, Ph.D at Oregon Research Institute, Meghan Butryn, Ph.D at Drexel University, and Christopher Beevers, Ph.D at the University of Texas at Austin.

All female students from the schools taking part in this study will be invited to participate. Those that are eligible and decide to participate will be randomly assigned to one of two programs designed to improve body satisfaction. In one of the programs participants will receive an educational brochure about healthy body image. In the other program, participants will attend four weekly 1-hour group meetings.

All participants, regardless of which program they are assigned to, will receive $180 over the course of two years for completing four assessments. Each assessment consists of a brief interview and survey that asks about eating and exercise habits, body image, and mood.

For more detailed information, select your college/university from the list of participating schools.
