ORI Scientist Named to State Panel on Cultural Competence

ORI scientist Jorge Ramirez Garcia has been appointed to an Oregon Health Authority (OHA) committee to ensure cultural competence of continuing education trainings for health professionals.
Ramirez Garcia, an ORI senior scientist, will help advise and make recommendations to OHA on the development of critieria to approve cultural competency continuing education opportunities for OHA-regulated health professionals. The committee, the Cultural Competency Continuing Education Curriculum Approval Committee, will also establish a process to approve a list of cultural compentency continuing education opportunities. The committee was established by HB 2611.
