Herb Severson received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and is a Senior Research Scientist at Oregon Research Institute. Dr. Severson has been an investigator on more than 60 NIH grants since 1979. He has conducted some of the earliest studies on smokeless tobacco prevention and cessation and is nationally known for his work in this area.
