Game-Based Intervention to Prevent Adolescent Prescription Drug Misuse
This is a subaward with Arkansas Children’s Research Institute

The goals of this two year project are to refine and broaden a game-based prevention intervention targeting adolescents that was originally developed to focus solely on opoid misuse to one that targets all non-medical use of prescription drugs, and to develop accompanying parent/caregiver videos. Using input from a community advisory board consisting of relevant and expert stakeholders, as well as input from students and caregivers via focus groups, we will assess the intervention’s usability, acceptability, and appropriateness, as well as the potential effects of the intervention on changing knowledge and attitudes. The data gained from this qualitative study will provide support for the experimental evaluation of the prevention program through NIH funding.
