Gulcan Cil, Associate Scientist

Gulcan Cil, Ph.D., is an Associate Scientist at ORI and a Senior Statistician at the Center for Evidence-Based Policy at Oregon Health and Science University. She has a Ph.D. in economics focusing on advanced data analytic methods and environmental and public health economics. Her expertise is in integration, processing, and analysis of health and other (e.g., sociodemographic, economic, educational, environmental, crime) data from administrative records, surveys, and other sources, and advanced statistical modeling and methods for improved causal inference.

She is particularly interested in policy evaluation in terms of their impacts on individual behaviors and outcomes, and assessment of the effects of different environmental and behavioral factors on health, health disparities, and socioeconomic outcomes.  She also has expertise in performing cost effectiveness analyses for school- and community-based interventions targeting health and educational outcomes.
