ORI’s dear friend and colleague Jeanne Dalen, Ph.D., passed unexpectedly in December 2022. Dr. Dalen was a practicing clinical psychologist and owner of Illumine Integrative Therapeutics in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a Research Scientist for ORI’s Center for Family and Adolescent Research in Albuquerque, Assistant Professor, Department of Adolescent Medicine at the University of New Mexico and a published writer for many research programs and studies.

Dr. Dalen specialized in behavioral medicine and conducted both research and clinical work with chronic illness populations including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Her behavioral health research through ORI, focused on mindful eating, family-based adolescent treatment programs for depression and substance use, and research ethics surrounding the participation of children and adolescents in clinical trials, made valuable contributions to her field of study.
