Daritza Vélez Pérez, Associate Scientist
Daritza Vélez Pérez is an Associate Scientist at ORI; she currently lives in Puerto Rico. She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. Her primary research interests are related to the prevention of suicidal behavior, maternal depression, and the development and adaptation of empirically supported treatments to improve mental health in underserved populations, especially low-income families living on the island. She is currently conducting a pilot study to examine the potential to expand the reach of Mon-Net, an online CBT intervention aimed to alleviate maternal depression of mothers of preschool-aged children, to Puerto Rico.
