Richard Farmer, Research Scientist
Richard Farmer is a Research Scientist at ORI. His professional interests are primarily centered on difficulties in self-regulation. Specific topics include addictive behaviors, personality disorders, impulsivity, eating disorders, and boredom proneness. Other areas of research interest include behavioral and personality assessment and psychiatric disorder comorbidity and aggregation over the lifespan. Dr. Farmer is also an author of books on the applications and methods of behavior therapy, including Behavioral Interventions in Cognitive Behavior Therapy: Practical Guidance for Putting Theory into Action, published by the American Psychological Association, the third edition of which is currently in preparation.
