The intent of this project was to increase access for families from minority ethnic and cultural and rural backgrounds to support services for Typically Developing (TD) siblings of children with disabilities and health impairments. Supports for TD siblings are not widely available, and are even less available for these typically underserved families.
The smart speaker technology used in this project reduced common barriers these families face in accessing this support (time, travel, distance). The technology content was developed with this family audience in mind, and participant recruitment targeted these families with support from community recruitment partners.
