Parent-Child Interaction Dynamics Mediate Genetic and Prevention Effects on the Development of Adolescent Substance Use Disorders
This is a sub-award with Arizona State University

In this secondary analysis grant, Erika Westling, Ph.D., and her colleagues are developing new quantitative methods of capturing dynamic family interactions in early childhood to identify key mechanisms underlying genetic and family intervention effects on adolescent substance/dependence and mentall health problems.

This secondary data analysis project will use data from the ethnically diverse Early Step Multisite trial, a large randomized controlled trial of the family-centered intervention Family Check-Up in early childhood on children's problem behavior and substance misuse and disorders.
