Project Nurture Expansion Study
This is a sub-award from Oregon Health Science University

Dr. Cioffi is collaborating with colleagues from OHSU on a NIH research grant that expanded Nurture Oregon's reach into rural and underserved communities. Project Nurture provides prenatal care, inpatient maternity care, and postpartum care for women who struggle with addictions as well as pediatric care for their infants

Researchers are assessing whether the program improves perinatal care, facilitates engagement in substance use treatment, reduces child foster care placement, and improves overall health and well-being of people with SUD and their children. Dr. Cioffi provides expertise at the intersections of pregnancy, parenting, and substance use disorders as well as the intersections of houselessness, stimulant and opioid use disorder, and harm reduction.
